Integrated Services for Children with Motor Disabilities

Renfrew’s Integrated Services for Children with Motor Disabilities (ISMD) program is designed specifically for children with motor disorders who meet the criteria for funding through Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD).

Our transdisciplinary team works closely with parents to develop individualized programs that reflect the physical, social, emotional and cognitive areas of growth for each child. This includes the integration of motor and sensory systems, and when necessary, assistive technology devices.

Developing each child’s internal motivation is also a focus of our ISMD program. We do this by fostering confidence, self-esteem and independence, which encourages children to strive to reach their maximum potential.

The ISMD team includes certified teachers, child development facilitators, psychologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation specialists, speech-language pathologists, assistive technology specialists and family support workers.
