Transportation

At Renfrew, we know that accessible door-to-door transportation is critical to getting children with disabilities safely to and from school.

Our door-to-door bus service is available to children attending Renfrew schools. This service is coordinated with our families before the start of the school year.

Our Buses

Our 48 buses are equipped with special four-point seatbelt systems, buckling over both of a child’s shoulders and across their middle to keep them safe and secure in their seat. Children between 10kg and 18kg will be provided with a car seat for their safety. If your child will be transported to and from school in their wheelchair, our transportation department will contact you to discuss all necessary details. All of our buses are inspected regularly for safety.

Our Drivers

All Renfrew bus drivers have a professional licence and “S” Endorsement, along with First Aid and CPR Training. All drivers also receive ongoing training and follow Renfrew’s strict protocol for the loading and unloading of children to ensure every child’s safe pick-up and drop-off.

Bus Boundaries and Timing

Bus boundaries vary by school location. Bus timing is dependent on pick-up and drop off locations. Please contact the Manager at your child’s school for additional information.

Transportation Fees (Elementary and Jr High ONLY)

As of September 2022, transportation fees only apply to Elementary and Jr High programs. 

• Individual student rate: $95.00/month
• Family rate: $120.00/month

Additional Information

If your child requires busing after the start of the school year, please contact the Manager at your child’s school and they will work with the transportation department to try to accommodate your child. Please note that our buses fill up quickly so we cannot always accommodate requests after bus routes have been established.
